Back To The Garden - A Visit to Kew

Okay, Spring is here, and so is the new gardening season, and I'm yet to get my allotment in a state that is remotely productive, let alone manicured. I still need to work out how to do anything with a baby, and gardening just seems so daunting.

So, a recent visit to Kew Gardens with my West London Attachment Meet-up Group mummy pals and their little ones was a very welcome opportunity, and it did indeed have me hankering for more time out there, at one with Nature. Here are some pictures I managed to take on my phone, before it's battery died completely, making me add to my list of things to buy a proper camera whose batteries can go for days and days. Enjoy! :-)

Beautiful on arrival

Mamas and babes, all worn and carried. Even those with pushchairs/buggies had slings as back up ;-)

Beautiful Rhododendrons

Japanese hut whose proper name I forget

More rhododendrons.... One of the ladies described this as, 'like a wedding dress'

Lawi and I under a humongous tree whose identity I missed taking

Guinea Fowl? It was shy and kept moving away as I approached it, poor thing

Lawi on a massive basket swing, losing his balance.....

.....and managing to regain and keep it for a moment

Playing in a sand pit with fake sand made of rubber.... why on earth? I prefer real sand.

Straight into his mouth, my oral explorer [blurry as I needed to intercept;-)].

And here's a little science story, as told by plants.... apparently.....

Lovely science lesson for the kids visiting ;-). And this is where my camera battery got so exhausted, and no more pictures were taken. I'm definitely going again soon, as it's an amazing place, with amazing gardens, and lovely quotes and sayings on the benches that I'd love to take pictures of too.

Now, off to make plans for my allotment.

Blessings x
