So, a few weeks ago, Lawi and I had the wonderful opportunity to attend a PR event - lunch at Nobu - as Sterimar launched it's wonderful new product, the Sterimar Nasal Spray for babies and kids.
As the adults tucked into 6 courses of yummy food and drink, and babies and children tucked into wonderful organic baby and child friendly food and drinks, we had Dr Catherine Hood, also a mother, pitch Sterimar to us.
Now, I could have just featured the PR event weeks ago, but I wanted to try out the spray on Lawi and review it. I knew I would anyway, so waited till now after a good few tries. Now, being a new mum, I certainly was not looking forward to my baby being ill... no mother in her right senses would, but unfortunately, coughs and colds happen to the best of us during the cold, dark months, and when my whole household succumbed recently, I was thankful for Sterimar.
Now, older kids and adults can blow their noses. Little babies can't. I had a nasal spray and nasal drops before Sterimar. They worked well, or so I thought. When I first tried Sterimar on myself, (me before baby, so I have an idea how he'd feel), I did not like it. I felt it had too much spray power. It tickled my nose and made me sneeze. So I then tried the nasal spray I had bought before the acquiring Sterimar. It was no better, plus the down-side, it got stuck mid-spray. I had to shake it and could only spray upright. And when it did work, it also tickled and made me sneeze. I started comparing the two, and Sterimar won simply because:
- It's 100% natural, made out of purified and filtered sea water, physiologically similar to the human body electrolytes - no preservatives
- It sprays upright, sideways, upside down, and does not get stuck
- The more I read about it, the more using it above all else (but breast milk ;-))made sense to me (great PR!)
More from the site:
- In clinical studies, it has been proven to improve breathing which leads to better feeding and sleeping.

ReplyDeleteHello, I've been using Sterimar for ages after my French doctor advised it and it's great for unclogging stuffy noses when breastfeeding, which was also a problem. Sterimar been used for years in France as a standard part of general baby hygiene so it's funny to see it suddenly being big news in the UK :) I'm a Sterimar blog ambassador over on my blog so feel free to pop over and say hi (http://madhousefamilyreviews.blogspot.com/2011/11/im-mummy-ambassador-for-sterimar-baby.html)
