Gardening - Random Pics 2009 Continued
Purple sprouting broccoli- they blew on me! No compact heads, sigh, and I thought I firmed them in well. Hope this year's crop do better.
Silver chard and perpetual spinach.
Spring new potatoes. Planted in bags last year and was disappointed. After all the time, effort and compost, this is all that came of 4 bags! Granted it was done in the garden at home where there isn't much sunshine, but still.
Had to put this one on. A one legged pigeon. It was hopping along quite happily, lol!
Baby garlic.
Had alot of chard and perpetual spinach! I planted 2 rows of silver chard and perpetual spinach late last year for the first time and was not disappointed. Harvested leaves through winter - lovely! I let them go to seed so I could save some seed as I will not be without them in the garden ever again!. Fab source of green juice too, lol! On the look out for rainbow coloured varieties now.
Harvest. Chard and leeks. The joys of having a winter crop.
