Afrizo is the music group from Daystar University that is touring the US for three months to raise awareness and funds for Daystar Scholarships!Jan, who works at Daystar University, Kenya, has been posting updates leading to their tour and I've only just 'discovered' her blog! Why is this project close to my heart? Well, 1) My sister Debra is in the group, and 2)They are helping raise money not just for their education but for many others. I love how Jan captures the purpose and reason for their tour:
Their main purpose for the trip is to raise awareness for the needs of Daystar University. They hope to raise funds for student scholarships and thank the generous donors that have been faithfully giving – even in these hard economic times. And I will join Jan in appealing for donations:
Please follow their tour of the US; pray, attend a concert (if you happen to be anywhere close to where they will be performing - Jac's words.). They really are amazing musicians! To listen to a song or two check out the Daystar website. They will not disappoint!Who knows, I may attend a concert myself if I find myself blessed enough to organise a trip to the US before they head back to Kenya. Now, that would be a blessing, so here's to planning!
More on Jan:
An evangelical, believing Christian who cares deeply about God's children, therefore is working to help equip the future generations of Kenyans to address their own issues in a holistic way. Please check Jan's blog for regular updates. Or, check mine for regular updates via Jan's, lol. And please, do not forget to check out Afrizo's schedule and buy tickets to a concert! If unable to attend any of the concerts, donations are greatly appreciated, so please give something! Help educate a student.
Brightest of blessings to all!
Jac x
